How do FIAs work?

FIAs are powered by the crediting strategy you choose. For most FIAs, a crediting strategy is made up of three parts.

number one Term

How long do you want the strategy to last? Every FIA is different, but you鈥檒l generally choose a term from one to 7 years.

number two Crediting method

This refers to how your interest credits are calculated and is generally either a fixed rate or a point-to-point method.

number three Index

This is the market index your growth is based on. While your money is not invested directly in the index, you do receive index credits based partly on how the index performs.
